Ugh, so today at dinner I got the lecture*, viz: “you can’t just go around wearing jeans in graduate school, you know. you’ll have to dress up a little, somehow,” the implication being that because I refuse to wear skirts, dresses, tights, heels, “flats,” or anything other than jeans, v-neck tee…

and melanie!! most boys i know who own nice fitted blazers that aren’t boxy either have them tailored or shop in the women’s department. maybe look into the former?
